Victor Roubidoux (1950-2026)

We, like so many, were saddened to learn that Victor Roubidoux, Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, a veteran and founder of the Grey Snow Eagle House, has walked on.

We offer our most sincere condolences to all who knew and loved him.

We enjoyed visiting with Victor on-camera in 2006 and 2012 regarding his work with the Oklahoma Ioway Eagle House and buffalo herd for the "Lost Nation: The Ioway" series. We will miss his smile, wit, and wisdom. He has left an incredible legacy.

Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Annual Powwow June 19-21

The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma's annual powwow  in Perkins, Oklahoma begins on Friday, June 19th and runs through Sunday, June 21 . The Native American cultural event features family activities, a celebration of dancers and singers, and a three-day weekend of tribal members gathering together. Friday evening features tiny tot dancers, and juniors and teen dancers. On Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Gourd Dancing is held in the Activities Building. Saturday evening  around 7 pmish, the Grand Entry of dancers will be held in the outside arena. Women dancers are featured during the evening. Male dancers are featured on Sunday. Courtesy Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma. Dancers from each category come dressed in their finest regalia competing for prize money. The event is open to the public and free of charge .
